Kavaklıdere Wines was established in 1929 in the Kavaklıdere neighborhood of Ankara, which is also its namesake, as the first private sector wine producer of the young Republic of Turkey. Under the conditions of the time, it became one of the country’s leading brands producing quality wines, utilizing materials and consultants brought in from Europe.

The concept of “terroir,” derived from the Latin word “terra,” meaning “soil,” refers to the totality of natural features that interact with the vineyard. Terroir winemaking involves assessing local and unique elements, such as climate, sun angle, soil composition, rainfall patterns, and slope, in a way that elevates the grapes and transforms them into wine. This approach forms the foundation for creating unparalleled wines unique to Anatolia.
